Arkhamis a fictional, dark city in Massachusetts and an integral part of the Lovecraft Country setting created by H. P. Lovecraft, and it is featured in many of his stories and those of other Cthulhu Mythos writers.
A part of it is Arkham Asylum which serves as a psychiatric hospital for the Gotham City area, housing patients who are criminally insane. Arkham’s high-profile patients are often from Batman’s rogues gallery, such as the Joker, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, the Penguin, Harley Quinn, Clayface, Bane, the Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, and the Scarecrow.
